Royal Energy
Engineering & Terminals
From concept to first fuel.
Fuel Infrastructure Engineering, Construction & Technical Solutions
We design, build and commission the infrastructure we then know how to operate ourselves. From the initial feasibility study to the first fuel dispensed, one division carries the project the entire way.
Why this division is different
Royal Energy has designed, built and operated its own aviation fuel infrastructure since 2017. Our engineering solutions are therefore designed from an operator's perspective, combining engineering, fuel quality, safety and real-world operational experience.
Eight stages, turnkey
We don't limit the service to "building plants." It can be contracted stage by stage, or end to end, depending on what the project needs.
01
Studies and planning
Technical feasibility, site selection, required capacity, demand projection, preliminary layout, storage needs, receiving and dispatch logistics, CAPEX/OPEX estimation.
02
Conceptual and basic engineering
Design of tanks, piping, pumps, filtration, loading and unloading systems, fueling areas, drainage, secondary containment, electrical systems, grounding, fire protection and automation.
03
Detailed engineering
Civil, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic drawings, instrumentation, P&ID, bills of materials, specifications and construction documentation.
04
Procurement
Selection and purchase of tanks, pumps, filters and separators, dispensers, refuellers, metering systems, valves, hoses, reels, control systems and laboratory equipment.
05
Construction and Project Management
Project direction under an EPCM model: specialized civil and electromechanical contractors, supervised by our engineers.
06
Commissioning
Pressure testing, line cleaning, flushing, calibration, start-up, initial fuel receipt and functional certification.
07
Initial operation and training
Operator training, receiving, storage and dispatch procedures, quality control and preventive maintenance.
08
Ongoing maintenance
Connects directly with Royal Energy Technical Services, sustaining the relationship over time, not just the construction margin.
Engineering & Terminals is not Technical Services
They work together, but answer to different things, and a project built by one flows naturally into a recurring contract with the other.
Royal Energy Engineering & Terminals
Designs, builds and commissions the infrastructure, end to end.
Royal Energy Technical Services
Maintains, inspects and repairs that same infrastructure, year after year.
Design → build → commission → maintain → modernize.
EPCM as the standard, Turnkey where it fits
Royal Energy does not indiscriminately take on general-contractor liability for an entire project. Depending on the country, we structure contracts as EPCM: Royal Energy handles engineering, procurement and project direction, while licensed local contractors execute and certify civil, electrical and fire-protection works.
That model reduces risk and lets us scale without turning Royal Energy into a large construction company. For projects where it fits, we also offer Turnkey / EPC.
Beyond aviation
The initial specialization is aviation fuel infrastructure, but the division's capability is not limited to a single airport.
- Jet A-1 and AVGAS airport facilities
- Ground fuel terminals
- Storage for mining operators
- Facilities for armed forces
- Facilities for oil companies
- Strategic storage
- Fuel systems for private airfields
- FBO facilities
- Facilities for flying clubs
- Storage for helicopters and offshore operations
- Expansions and modernizations of existing terminals
With a regional opportunity across Paraguay, Peru and other Latin American countries.
05 / Real-world case
Not theory: it's what we already built and operate
Since 2017, Royal Energy has designed, built and operated the only aviation fuel facility at Encarnación International Airport, with its own supervision and approval at every stage.
A civil engineer knows how to build a slab. A supplier can sell a pump. Royal Energy knows engineering, fuel, quality, storage, dispatch and airport operations all at once. It also supervises and approves every stage of construction under that same standard. That combination is this division's asset.
